Consultant Bio
Janelle Jalbert is our senior consultant with more than a decade of teaching and advising experience in upper elementary, middle school, high school, and college environments, working with diverse student populations. Janelle earned her undergraduate degrees in liberal studies and linguistics (cum laude) from California State University, Northridge (1998).
Initially, Janelle began her undergraduate work at UC San Diego before transferring to Pasadena City College after family hardships. She worked her way through college and graduated at the top of her CSUN class. After taking a few years away from academics to get her teaching career going, Janelle returned to school and earned her M.Ed. in cross-cultural teaching in 2004 and her M.A. in English (2006) from National University.
Janelle has become an expert in higher education. She specializes in distance learning and she has created online programs for leading national distance learning programs. Janelle has taught students in more than 14 states, in both traditional and virtual learning environments. Janelle has lived in, studied in, and traveled in more than 15 countries including Japan, Mexico, Australia, France, Italy, Croatia, Poland, and more. Currently, Janelle follows her passion for continuous learning by pursuing a PhD in Education.
Janelle's expertise in college planning comes from a multitude of experiences as an educator, advisor, learner, educational consultant, financial advisor, and administrator.
Edusistance, LLC
Edusistance began under the name J-Bear Educational Enterprises, as project for a private school looking to reinvent their summer program. The founder, Janelle Jalbert, was a teacher at New Avenue School at the time and created both the curriculum and the accompanying textbook, Success Skills for Middle and High School Students (2001). In the ensuing years, J-Bear Educational Enterprises and JCubed LLC merged into Edusistance.
Edusistance has two divisions: education and business. Services for educational settings include: professional development, workshops/seminars/conferences, BTSA assistance, Six Sigma and waste migitation, program development, curriculum development, and SME assistance in various subjects. For business settings: workshops, seminars, conferences, English as a second language courses, Six Sigma programming, motivational programming, human resources assistance, compliance assistance, ADA education, and more.
Our education division provides a wide array of services. We are extremely excited about the re-launch of college preparation program which will include a variety of delivery modes. We do workshops, camps, seminars, online/e-courses, e-zines, private and group coaching, special events and more!! While our current focus is on the relaunch of the college prep program, we still provide the core services such as curriculum development assistance, homeschool assistance, online program development, enrichment programing, remediation, ESL workshops, and test prep. Another program of interest is the development of experiential learning opportunities such as travel within the US and abroad and a variety of college visit tours.
